Ginger Gold apples are a bright yellow, early-ripening apple variety known for their sweet, crisp, and juicy flesh, making them excellent for both fresh eating and baking. Discovered after Hurricane Camille in 1969, this cross between Golden Delicious, Albemarle Pippin, and another unknown apple was named after Frances "Ginger" Harvey. They have a characteristic waxy skin, are resistant to browning, and are a popular, commercially successful apple variety.
